“Coach Leadership Think Tank 2019”

APC in collaboration with the ICF presented a Breakfast meeting under the theme “Coach Leadership Think Tank 2019” The event was organised with the objective of increasing awareness of Coaching and increasing the partnership with the International Coach Federation (ICF). APC through this event created awareness of the Global practices of coaching among Sri Lankan Leaders, Coaches and HR professionals.

The International panel of speakers presented a special segment on the global perspectives of coaching and the impact on leadership effectiveness. The speakers lined up were Ms Magdelena Nowicka Mook CEO and Executive Director ICF who specifically shed light on the topic “Creating a Coaching Culture the benefits of Coaching to an organisation” she further shared on the work of ICF and the benefits for members, Ms Fiona Toy ICF Strategic Director and Regional Director for Asia spoke on coaching and its impact on organisations to drive results and also shared case studies of large organisations that have catalysed coaching into their leadership and culture. Dr Ben Koh Founder and Managing Director of Coach Masters Academy Singapore who is an Organization Effectiveness coach spoke on “Transformational Leadership-Importance and impact of a transformed leader for organizational effectiveness”

Apart from the International speakers they President of APC Mr. Jayanatha Fernando-PCC and Mr. Ishan Danthanarayana who is the president of AHRP and group Chief Peoples Officer of Brandix joined the panel discussion in sharing their insights.

It was a well-attended event where CEO’s ‘Corporate Leaders ‘HR and L&D professionals joined us in this unique first in Sri Lanka discussion to experience and explore coaching and the impact it has on leadership and organisations in the local as well as global scale.

The event was concluded with the aspiration of formalising the ICF Chapter in Sri Lanka in the coming year and taking the next steps to strengthen and nurture the coaching Profession in Sri Lanka.
